Alaska Telephone Association
Founded in 1949, the Alaska Telephone Association (ATA) sets out in the first paragraph of its Bylaws its goal of advocating "for uniformity and efficiency in accounting, operating, maintenance and construction for supporting the continuance of telecommunications service to the public." This in a state encompassing 591,004 square miles one fifth the area of the "lower 48." The distance from Ketchikan in the Southeast to Barrow on the Arctic Ocean is similar to the distance from Minneapolis to Daytona Beach, but unconnected by roadways. The width of the state would stretch from the east coast of Georgia into California. This is the area served by ATA companies.

The Colorado Telecommunications Association, formed in 1963, is a combination of several small, rural telecommunications companies providing local exchange service in Colorado. Its purpose is to advance the interest of rural telecommunications.

FTTH Council
Now in its tenth year, the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) Council is a non-profit association consisting of companies and organizations that deliver video, Internet and/or voice services over high-bandwidth, next-generation, direct fiber optic connections - as well as companies that manufacture FTTH products and others involved in planning and building FTTH networks. The Council works to create a cohesive group to share knowledge and build industry consensus on key issues surrounding fiber to the home. Its mission is to educate the public and government officials about FTTH solutions and to promote and accelerate deployment of fiber to the home and the resulting quality of life enhancements such networks make possible. The Council organizes North America's largest annual FTTH event, the FTTH Conference & Expo, which will be held September 26 - 30, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.

FTTH Council Asia Pacific
The FTTH Council Asia-Pacific is a non-profit organization established in 2005. The organization is building on the success of its sister organizations in the US and Europe to educate the industry and the general public on the opportunities and benefits of FTTH solutions. FTTH Council Asia-Pacific members represent all areas of broadband industries, including telecommunications, computing, networking, system integration, engineering and content-provider companies, as well as traditional telecommunications service providers, utilities and municipalities.

The Geospatial Information & Technology Association (GITA) is the professional association and leading advocate for anyone using geospatial technology to help operate, maintain and protect the infrastructure, which includes organizations such as utilities, telecommunication companies and the public sector. Idaho Telecom Alliance
The Idaho Telecom Alliance (ITA) became as the Idaho Telephone Association in 1984 as the voice of rural telephone providers throughout Idaho. In 2008, the name was changed to reflect advances in the telecommunications industry, and the spirit of teamwork and collaboration between members. The ITA is the leading advocacy group for independent telecommunications companies in Idaho.
The ITA consists of 14 independent local exchange telephone companies located or operating in Idaho. These companies, located mainly in rural communities in central and southern Idaho, have provided local telephone service in their communities for decades (some for more than a century). Many of its companies are family- or member-owned and operated. All are dedicated to supporting and expanding the economic viability of their communities, and to enhancing the educational and business opportunities available to community members.

Iowa Telecommunications Association
The Iowa Telecommunications Association (ITA) is the nation's largest member telephone association with 147 active telephone company members. The ITA offers leadership on key telecommunication issues and supports member companies in the legislative and regulatory arenas to ensure a fair, competitive environment in the state. Established in 1896, it is the largest and second oldest state telephone association in the United States.

Louisiana Telecommunications Association
Twenty independent telephone companies operate in Louisiana with more than 1,360 employees providing telephone service for about 149,000 subscribers. This means one of every 14 telephone customers in the state is served by an independent, locally-operated telephone company. In square miles, 35 percent of Louisiana is served by these 20 independent telephone companies. The areas served by these independents continue to be rural.

NTCA
The National Telecommunications Cooperative Association (NTCA), "the voice of rural telecommunications," is the premiere non-profit association representing over 570 small and rural telephone cooperatives and commercial companies.

Utah Rural Telecom Association
URTA members are committed to providing rural Utah with the best telecommunications services available. URTA is an association representing 14 independent telephone companies that serve 80 percent of the state's geographical area and more than 96,000 residents.

With our mapping system, we are able to geo-code proximity of plant to commercial addresses, and we can bucket those in terms of distance from plant and make it more systematic in terms of how we try to get the sales.
